Overview of Random Access Memory
Random Access Memory is an electronic device in the form of integrated circuits . The Random Access Memory is abbreviated as RAM which stores the computer data that being accessed by the Central Processing Unit (CPU). It is a primary storage device that stores the data temporarily, therefore it has been associated with volatile type of memory.

The Random Access Memory (RAM) is one most important device for the system operations.The RAM memory makes the system work faster. It has been divided in to two types, They are
1. Dynamic RAM (DRAM)
2. Static RAM (SRAM)
Dynamic RAM (DRAM)
In this type of RAM memory cells with a paired transistor and capacitor requiring constant refreshing.The word dynamic indicates that the memory must be constantly refreshed (re-energized) or it will loses their data when power is removed .It had support access times of 60 nano seconds
Static RAM (SRAM)
This type of RAM uses multiple transistors, typically four to six, for each memory cell but doesn’t have a capacitor in each cell. It is used primarily for cache.It is more faster and less volatile than Dynamic RAM, also requires more power and it will be costly. The word Static indicates that it does not refresh the memory like Dynamic RAM. The SRAM support less than 10 nanoseconds.
